ASAREL MEDET, WE MOURN WITH YOU! IN MEMORY OF LACHESAR TSOTSORKOV!

18.05.2017

DEAR COLLEGE NIKOLOV, DEAR FRIENDS,

Please accept the sincere condolences of the management and the entire staff of Kaolin EAD on the occasion of the death of Prof. Dr. Lachezar Tsotsorkov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ASAREL MEDET AD.

These standard, protocol words are not able to express our real feelings at the moment. Lachezar Tsotsorkov was not just one of the doyens of the mining in Bulgaria. He was not just the longtime leader of one of the largest enterprises in the country, the creator and engineer of the Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Geology, the influential businessman and generous philanthropist. He was a man of character, dignity and understanding of honor. He was Man.

All the positions that Lachezar Tsotsorkov held, all the honors he received during his lifetime, he was  worthy of them because he possessed the required qualities. His brilliant achievements in the economy and in the mining industry in particular shone brightly before all of us. More importantly, he was a proponent of the principles of social responsibility and sustainable development before these concepts were invented. He was not a manager who learned from a textbook; personalities such as Lachezar Tsotsorkov were the authors the material in the textbooks are written from. He was a “living” manual that we all learn from and will continue to learn.

In all his actions and steps, Lachezar Tsotsorkov was a direct moral descendent to those renascence men from the Bulgarian Revival, who once created this state from a scratch in the 19th century. Surely, many years from now, the history will make a place for him in that line of remarkable men. As one of the people who, at the end of the XX and the beginning of the XXI century, did their best to preserve, develop and enlarge the heritage they received. People who had a sense of duty, far beyond the usual concepts. Who had a cause. Who had worked with the thought for the community. For the greater good. One could say, not even for your company or for your industry, but for Bulgaria.

There is one thought that we often remember in recent days, when we think of him: "The great manager acts in a way that his enterprise is great; the great leader wants his business to remain great, even when he will no longer be in charge." Lachezar Tsotsorkov was a great leader. He create and left behind a large company - ASAREL MEDET AD. We know that it will not be easy for you. But because of his memory, because of all that he has done, what has been accomplished and what is bequeathed to you, you are bound to succeed. Keep and upgrade what you have. To continue his work. Not just for yourselves, but for all of us. He did so, that much depends on ASAREL MEDET. So now very much is expected of you. You have to deal with that.

You will not be alone down this road. We want you to know that there is a very strong moral connection between Asarel Medet AD and Kaolin EAD. In a difficult time for us, Lachezar Tsotsorkov used all the influence and power he had to protect us. Protect colleagues. To defend the principle. Protect justice. Many times in our lives we have had the opportunity to tell him that the gesture he made for us will never be forgotten and we will be glad to be able to give back one day. We say the same to all of you now: KAOLIN EAD has a debt to Professor Lachezar Tsotsorkov, and this is our debt to ASAREL MEDET AD. Know that when the time comes that you will need support, you will not have to recall your old debts. We, the people of Kaolin EAD, will be with you. We so wish he could hear what we are saying now. In fact, we're sure he can hear. Because there is no death. Death is only a transition to another state in which our dear deceased continue to be with us, to help and support us. Luchezar Tsotsorkov is among you, among all of us, and will continue to help and support us. We believe in that, implicitly.

GOD REST HIS SOUL! Thank you, Lucho!
