KAOLIN WITH APPROXIMATELY 40% CONSOLIDATED PROFIT GROWTH FOR THE SIX MONTHS
In the first six months of 2011, Kaolin AD generated consolidated revenues from activities in the amount of approximately BGN 82 mln, which is an increase by approximately 18 %as compared to the same period of the previous year. However, individual revenues grew 14% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching BGN 69 mln.
For the six months of 2011, the consolidated profit marked a 37 % growth and the consolidated operating result of Kaolin AD reached BGN 9.4 mln compared to BGN 4.9 mln for the same period of 2010. The consolidated indicator EBITDA for the first six months of 2011 also grew by 30 %. For the reported period the operating expenses grew at significantly slower rates (12%) compared to the revenues growth, due to the continuous improvement of the operating efficiency of the production and the logistics.
The company’s individual result marked a 29 % growth, i.e. already by 30 June 2011 it amounted to BGN 5,762 thousand compared to BGN 4,484 thousand for the same period in 2010.
The ceramics and glass industry, each of them forming one third of the consolidated sales, preserved the trend of steady growth by over 20 % compared to the preceding reporting period.
More significant is the revenues’ increase of the paper industry (40 %) as compared to the first six months of 2010, and of the foundry industry (34 %). The sales growth in the high technology segment of fillers and the chemical industry is over 90 %.
Only the sales in the construction field marked a decrease by 17 % on individual basis and by approx. 5 % on consolidated basis respectively, due mainly to the continuous heavy stagnation in the local construction sector.
During the second quarter Kaolin AD continued the expansion of its geographic market presence by entering new markets such as Japan, China and several other countries in Asia.
