Kaolin AD Has Launched a Joint Energy Efficiency Project with a Danish Partner

On 2 December 2010, an agreement was executed by and between Kaolin AD and the Danish energy company EnergiMidt on the construction of a new highly energy-saving utilisation facility of thermal energy where producing chamotte. The Project amounts to a total of nearly EUR 1 million, and the equipment, which is to be provided by Denmark, is being funded by the Scandinavian Nordea Bank under a guarantee issued by the Danish Export Credit Fund. H.E. Mr Valentin Poriazov, Ambassador of Bulgaria to Denmark, Mr Holger Blok, General Manager of EnergiMidt, and Mr Konstantin Nenov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Kaolin AD, attended the signing of the agreement.

 
Under the energy efficiency project in question, the consumption of natural gas is to be reduced by around 1.5 million cubic metres a year, thus saving between 2,000 and 3,300 tonnes of harmful carbon dioxide emissions, and the Project constitutes an element of the extraction company’s “green” strategy on preserving the environment and the natural resources.

EnergiMidt is the third largest energy company in Denmark, having an annual turnover for year 2009 to the amount of EUR 268 million. More than 600 officers are employed by the Company, and its customers within the region of Jutland exceed 180,000. Apart from delivering power, water supply and heat-supply services, the Company is one of the leading firms in the field of optic fiber internet provision, solar facilities and energy efficiency. EnergiMidt has built 2/3 of the solar capacity in Denmark and the Company provides annually 62,000 Megawatt hours of saved energy to its customers in Denmark. Outside Denmark, EnergiMidt persues activities in the field of renewable energy sources and energy saving in Greenland, Spain and Ukraine.
