Kaolin Has Registered a 18%-Growth in Revenues, Has Doubled Its Net Profit, 28 April 2010

The Company Has Reported Stabilisation with Regard to Its Main Product Sectors
For the first quarter of 2010, Kaolin AD has reported sales revenues to the amount of BGN 26 million, which constitutes an increase of more than 18 % where compared to the first quarter of 2009 (BGN 22 million).

The ceramic sector remains the largest market for the Company’s production, registering an increase of more than 75 % in total sales compared to the first quarter of 2009, resulting from the market expansion in the Middle East countries and the continuous expansion of the deliveries’ geography.

An increase in revenues has also been recorded in the paper industry and in the limestone for sulphur purifying installations. However, a considerable reduction in revenues has been registered in the construction segment (about 48 %), the Company’s main market thereof being in Bulgaria.

The Company’s net financial result for the past quarter amounted to BGN 668 thousand, compared to BGN 341 thousand for the same period in 2009. Kaolin AD’s EBIDTA for the first quarter of 2010 amounted to BGN 3,590 thousand and has remained at the same level where compared to the first quarter in 2009. During the first quarter in question, the Company’s production capacities recorded considerable improvement in terms of work-load. Simultaneously, in view of the winter conditions, certain production costs, such as materials and external services have registered rapid seasonal increase.

The Company’s Programme aiming at reduction of costs is still being implemented, and at the quarter’s end the gasification of the Ignatievo factory was completed. Thus, Kaolin no longer has capacities, which utilise liquid fuels in industrial processes, and thereby an additional enhancement of the energy efficiency is expected.
